Baby shower on Matt’s side April 24, 2009

Matt’s sisters threw them a baby shower and I went to it last weekend!! It was so wonderful!!!!!!!! They made me feel so honored!! I couldn’t have planned it any better from a surro’s perspective if I had done it myself!!

Taylor and I drove down there on Friday night and spent the night with my IP’s. They are so cute and really don’t eat at home a lot being with out kids and all so after Taylor and I went to bed at 11pm and Matt ran out to the store for breakfast stuff and hot tea just for me!!! They are so good to me!!

At the shower Matt’s  mom Kathleen got Melissa  and I matching corsages and pinned us both. The asked if I wouldn’t mind sitting up there with Melissa while she opened gifts which was not a problem.  So after we ate lunch we got up to the gift table to open and Matt’s sisters Terrell and Celeste presented me with a dear johnnies hospital gown with my name on it!!! I was shocked!!! They are so wonderful and they made cards out that the guests could write words of encouragement on them that they would send me throughout the pregnancy to lift me up!! Oh my word that is sooooooooooo thoughtful!!!! I would have never thought of it!!!

There were about 70 people there and about an hour into opening gifts my Melissa asked if I could help her open too because she had a ton!! It was my pleasure and a ton of fun!!

I even got gifts!! Kay Matt’s step mom got me this great basket with movies and lotions and a book along with a back scubber so I could reach my feet lol!!
I also got a lovely matching jewerly box that Melissa got too with the sweetest note inside about how when I open it to think about the twins and IM using it at the same time and how connected we are. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa  That was from her friend Kourtney
.  I also got some more lotions and bath things (who I don’t remember it’s from but thank you so much!!!)  along with a miracle willow tree figure from my Matt and Melissa. Tons of wonderful cards too. I really felt that it was for me too!!!! I was listed on the invitation but you know I didn’t expect any of this!!!

It really was such a wonderful time and I have never seen so much love and gratefulness from a group of people in my life!! It was very very touching.

Afterwards we went to Kathleen’s for his nephew’s 1st birthday party Cade where every one got to feel the babies move and I got to spend a very relaxing afternoon with their family!!!

It was a fabulous weekend!!! We have our 2nd one Mother’s day weekend from her side so I’ll update that when I get back.

Now for our appt.  My mom went with me and we met Kathleen and Melissa at the perinatologist office.  We got to see the girls and they were measuring great!!!  My cervix measured very well also.  After that appt we went down stairs to the OB where I’ve gained a total of 23 lbs so that’s a pound a week since we’ve been pregnant.  The OB said it’s fine.  My blood pressure was great and we passed the 1hr glucose test!!!  That was a biggie!!!  I’m so happy that it’s done!!!  We had a final talk about letting me try to labor and it was a success!!!  I did a lot of research and after talking with Kay, Matt, and Melissa as well as the OB it is reasonable for me to have a vaginal delivery if they are both head down and we are not having any problems.  I am praying all the time that we get to have a vaginal delivery so please pray with me!!!  We did schedule a c-section for July 31st to be safe so if something happens and we can’t labor we are not scrambling for a c-section date.  So either way the girls will be here in July which is a good month because My birthday is the 5th and Matt’s is the 30th. 

We have another visit to the Peri for a growth scan and the OB towards the end of May and after that visit we will be going every 2 weeks!!  I can’t believe it’s going by so fast. 

We go for baby shower given by Melissa’s family on Mother’s day weekend.  So I’ll either update after the shower or after our next Dr. appt.
